Police once again warning to put down the phone behind the wheel

The Comox Valley RCMP are again raising the issue of distracted driving, as they say it’s still a big problem.

Corporal Brad Matchett says they’ve seen the issue all around the valley.

He adds that drivers need to remember that it’s not just cell phones that are a no-no when you’re behind the wheel.

He adds even if you’re stopped at a red light, you can still get a ticket if you’re distracted with another device.

Matchett advises investing in a hands free device, or simply putting the phone in your trunk before you hit the road.
