John Ambler to run for mayor

We have a mayoral race in the city of Courtenay, as councilor John Ambler has decided that he will run against incumbent Larry Jangula.

Ambler had originally decided to not seek re-election at the council table, but says a swell of support changed his mind.

Ambler says he wants more positive, constructive talk around the state of Courtenay, and for more focus towards youths.

Ambler served two terms on Courtenay city council. Before that, he served for 30 years in the air force, eventually becoming the Base Commander for CFB Comox.
