Valley volunteers celebrated

Kudos to scores of dedicated volunteers putting in countless hours year in, and year out! That was the idea behind the City of Courtenay’s Annual Volunteer Appreciation dinner. Nicole Barber is with the July 1st Committee…helping organize a major show staged at the Sid Williams Theatre each Canada Day.

Marlene Olo is the key organizer with the July 1st Committee.

Local Volunteer longtime Lawrence Burns is a former Courtenay Fire Chief and is with the City of Courtenay Heritage Advisory Commission.

Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula says volunteers play a huge role in the community…

Numerous valley groups were recognized for their outstanding volunteer commitment at the Annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held at the Filberg Centre.
