3 Comox Valley groups are receiving funding from the Rural Dividend Fund.

The Merville Community Association is receiving more than $77,000 dollars for improvements to its buildings and site.

The Association’s Craig Freeman says the overall goal is to turn the site into an agri-tourism centre to showcase and sell locally grown products to locals and to tourists travelling through the area.

The Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society will receive $100,000 in funding.

Spokesperson Pearl McKenzie says the funding will be used to build a forever home for the society’s educational program.

The United Riders of Cumberland received $45,000 for trail improvements and signage in Cumberland.
