Mayor’s Cup game raising funds for KidSport Comox Valley

The 7th annual Mayor’s Cup is tomorrow. The hockey game pits Comox against Courtenay and serves as a fundraiser for KidSport Comox Valley.

Courtenay Mayor Larry Jangula says he’s excited to take part in the event. “It’s all about helping other people….it’s really a good time. I think [people] will find excellent entertainment, the cost is free…it’s by donation”, says Jangula.

Jangula adds Comox has won the game 4 times in the past, while Courtenay’s team has been victorious twice. “It’s one of the biggest fundraisers at KidSport…the monies will go towards registration fees and equipment”, says Comox Mayor Paul Ives.

The Mayor’s Cup game goes Saturday, March 11th at the Comox Valley Sports Centre at 7:00 PM.
