Funding for trades equipment in Comox Valley School District

Students in School District 71 are benefiting from a provincial investment in new trades equipment.

Comox Valley MLA Don McRae says the trades industry is growing with many career opportunities for students.

“It’s really important that young men and women, as they go through the school system, that they consider all types of jobs and the trades are definitely something to consider”, says McRae.

McRae says the district is getting more than $175,000 dollars over 3 years for equipment like band-saws and plasma cutters.
