Celebrating Community Inclusion month in the Comox Valley
It’s Community Inclusion Month in British Columbia, a chance to recognize the contributions people with developmental disabilities make in our community, as well as the agencies and employers that help and support them along the way.
Local MLA Don McRae was on hand at the local Excel Career College to congratulate Jennifer Fleming.
She had been awarded a $2,500 scholarship to study at the college, and she’s now roughly two months into her seven month Veterinary assistance program. The scholarship came from Community Living BC and the BCGEU.
Administrative Assistant Shannon says, Jennifer has been doing great so far.
And Minister McRae says the government has heard loud and clear from persons with disabilities and their families.
As for Jennifer herself, she says she’d like to perhaps run her own Veterinarian office one day.
