Students gearing up for Mountie Camp

Mountie Camp kicks off this weekend in the Comox Valley. RCMP Constable Rob Gardner says it’s done as a partnership with School District 71.

He says students get to go through drills and classes that Mounties take as part of their own training.

“The classes aren’t quite like law classes [we take]…what we get to do is we get to kind of show them the different resources we have in the Valley…so we have everything from the West Coast Marine Services, the dive units, the emergency response team is gonna come…”, Gardner says.

36 students are registered for the week-long camp, which start on Sunday, March 26th and goes through Friday, March 31st at HMCS Quadra.
