Mounties investigating afternoon shooting

The Comox Valley RCMP are looking into a shooting that happened somewhere on the 1600 block of Piercy Avenue in Courtenay. Constable Rob Gardner says the incident happened at around 2:55 on Friday afternoon, March 24th 2017.

“One male has been taken to hospital with unknown injuries [at this time]. The investigating is still in its early stages and we’re encouraging people to stay away from the area and let the investigators do the work they need to do…it is believed the victim was known the the suspect”, Gardner says.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime-Stoppers.
