Campbell River RCMP were on the water Saturday searching for two people who had been on a 67 foot boat 5 kilometers North of Campbell River when it started taking on water.
Greg Menzies from the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Victoria says the initial call for help came in at 2:30 a.m. Saturday and they dispatched the Coast Guard and a Cormorant helicopter.
Menzies says the Coast Guard were still involved in the search on Saturday.
