In case you weren’t aware, those new distracted driving penalties came into effect Monday.
Constable Don Sinclair from the Comox Valley RCMP says, the fine has stayed the same at $167, but now, three points will also be added to your license.
Constable Sinclair reminds this isn’t just for cell phone use behind the wheel, this also covers things like, fiddling with your GPS while driving, or using a hand held audio device.
