The PEP coordinator for the Comox Valley says he hopes residents get the message loud and clear, on the importance of household emergency preparation after a large earthquake rocked our region last night.
Mike Fornier says it is not a matter of if, but when the “Big One” will hit.
So Jet News asked Fornier, does he think valley residents will start to get serious about emergency preparation after a lackluster community response to a series of PEP workshops?
Meanwhile Fornier says a series of PEP workshops open to the entire community will be held next month, focusing on things like Drop, Covering and Holding on when the quake hits, and being prepared to go it alone in your home for at least 72 hours.
