Maple Pool protesters rally outside Courtenay City Hall

A crowd of over 60 gathered at the Simms Park Pavilion, and then marched to Courtenay City Hall in protest of the way the Maple Pool campground situation has been handled.

Some were part of the ‘Friends of Maple Pool’ group, others, candidates for Courtenay council, and there were even some residents of the campground on hand to voice their opinion on the situation.

Goat news was there and heard what they had to say.

A table was also set up for donations for the Maple Pool Legal Defense fund, although they did say they hope they won’t have to fund raise much longer, and that the new council will drop the lawsuit against the campground owners.
