Road work happening on Wednesday

A heads up for drivers out there, some road work is set to get going on Wednesday on the Island Highway South at Monaltrie drive.

Anne Guillo from the City of Courtenay says, they’re finishing up the water main improvement project that was started a few weeks ago. Thanks to some rough weather, as well as the boil water advisory, they had to put off the work for a little bit.

She says crews will be working from 8 am to 3pm, and traffic will be reduced to single lane alternating during that time.

Guillo adds some residents may have their water service interrupted by the work, but the City is working to let those people know beforehand.
