Several storms set to pound the region

Environment Canada says we’re about to get hit with what forecasters are calling an incredible series of storms..

Wind and rainfall warnings are up for the entire region.

The first front will cross the area this afternoon with winds of 70 kilometers an hour, gusting to 90, and lots of rain.

Jennifer Hay of Environment Canada says because the system is generated by a strong Jet Stream dipping south and picking up warm, moist, air… there won’t even be a consolation prize of fresh powder in the mountains.

Hay says the system will hit the area in waves from today through Thursday morning.

Residents are urged to keep clear of the Puntledge River this week with high flows expected.
