Stage 3 Water Restrictions Extended

The Stage 3 water restrictions for users of the Comox Valley system have been extended by a few days.

Manager of Water Services with the Comox Valley Regional District Mike Herschmiller says the restrictions will be in place until Friday afternoon at 4:30 PM.

“Just through the regular maintenance that BC Hydro is doing on their [Puntledge] Generating Station as well as the pen-stock, they ran into a few little hiccups and the Stage 3 is needing to be extended for a couple of days.”

Herschmiller adds that, “the rain has been fortunate and helped us get through this no-watering time but we still ask residents not to water their lawns and to only water trees, shrubs and flowers with a hand-held nozzle.”

These restrictions apply to the Town of Comox, City of Courtenay, and the Sandwick, Arden, Comox Valley, England Road, Marsden/Camco and Greaves Crescent Water Local Service Areas.

More details about Stage 3 water restrictions can be found at comoxvalleyrd.ca.
