Habitat Baffled by Theft of Shania Twain Coat

Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North is asking the public’s help in finding a stolen donated item.

Spokesperson Terri Perrin says a Shania Twain jacket was taken this week from the organization’s charitable She Shed.

The customized garden She Shed is part of a raffle starting Monday that will help raise $20,000 to support Habitat’s 10-home build on Lake Trail Road in Courtenay.

“Now these [Shania Twain jackets] are available on Ebay for about $30 so it’s not like a highly priced item but the purpose was to raise money to help build 10 homes on Lake Trail for needy families in our community. We have an affordable housing shortage and basically somebody stole from those families by stealing that jacket.”

Anyone with information about the stolen jacket is asked to contact the Comox Valley RCMP.
