Fatal hit and run in Fanny Bay

On December 15, 2014 at 10:56 P.M. the Comox Valley RCMP entered into an investigation of a missing person in the Fanny Bay area.

This investigation took a turn for the worse at 11:29 P.M. when the man was located lying in a ditch on Highway 19A near Curran road in Fanny Bay. It was apparent that the 48 year old male cyclist had been struck by a vehicle that had been Southbound on highway 19A as well. The man was transported to St. Joseph’s hospital in Comox where he was pronounced deceased.

The RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle involved in this collision and its driver. Constable Don Sinclair explains.
