“Love and courage isn’t just a slogan with Jagmeet. He’s going to bring his many years of experience fighting against discrimination and inequality to the issues that matter to Canadians. While the Liberal party continues to help themselves and their insider friends, Jagmeet’s going to lead the NDP’s work to build an inclusive Canada – one that builds everyone up [and] not just the few at the top.”

At 38 years old, Singh is the youngest leader in the party’s history. The new leader is fluent in French, English and Punjabi.

The Ontario MPP is also a trained martial artist and a criminal defence lawyer who grew up in Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario.
