Another Fall Storm on the Way

Environment Canada says a strong storm, following up on Monday’s heavy rainfall, is expected to hit the region early Wednesday.

Meteorologist Armel Castellan says to anticipate strong winds. Castellan says it is possible that falling leaves may block storm drains and combined with significant rain, cause slight local flooding. He says, as for temperatures over the next few days, we shouldn’t see any of the rain fall as snow.

“We’re a bit shielded from the temperature swings because of the proximity to the ocean so it’s not going to be too much. However, the temperatures should drop behind the cold front, but it’s not substantial on the Coast. It’s definitely something that will be felt more on the Interior.”

Castellan says it’s early to say, but we could see another 50 to 70 millimetres of rain fall with the second system, due to hit the region by Wednesday.
