New road connection between Headquarters and Piercy opens today

The provincial government says people can move more efficiently and safely through part of the Comox Valley. That’s thanks to a new connection between Highway 19 and north Courtenay that opened today.

The section includes a new bridge and connects Headquarters and Piercy roads north of Dove Creek Road. That makes a continuous route between Vanier Drive and Condensory Road with no stop signs or signal lights.

Courtenay-Comox MLA Ronna-Rae Leonard says it will benefit all travellers in the Comox Valley, but particularly people who live in Courtenay.
