Farmers’ Markets Band Together for Nutrition Coupon Program

Local food producers are working together to assist families in need.

Comox Valley Farmers’ Market spokesperson Vickey Brown says residents can get involved in the BC Association of Farmers’ Markets (BCAFM) Nutrition Coupon Program.

“The BCAMF’s Nutrition Coupon is a series of coupons given out to people in the community in need to help them access healthy, local produce.”

Brown says they’ve partnered up with Healthy Families BC to distribute coupons.

She adds they’re fundraising now to extend the nutrition coupon program through the Winter season.

There’s a link on the Comox Valley Farmers’ Market Facebook page that allows you to help donate towards feeding a family in need. You can also find out more about the Nutrition Coupon Program by visiting the BC Association of Farmers’ Market’s website.
