Courtenay Fire to host annual tree chipping

COURTENAY, B.C.- Fire fighters are giving back and ensuring you safely dispose of your Christmas tree.

The Courtenay Fire Department is hosting its annual Christmas tree chipping on Saturday, January 6th and Sunday, January 7th.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Trees can be dropped off for a minimum donation of $5 at the fire hall at 620 Cumberland Road, or at the Thrifty Foods in the Crown Isle plaza on Lerwick Avenue.

Arrangement for pick-up at home can also be made by calling (250) 334-2513.

Donations from the event will help local charities and youth sports groups.
