COURTENAY, B.C.- Rugged weather conditions have forced staff at Mount Washington to close the resort. The original report can be found through this link.

Saturday night, traffic was stalled going up and down the mountain due to heavy snowfall. Comox Valley RCMP informed 98.9 the Goat that trees had also fallen.

They were cleared as of approx. 11 p.m. last night.

A statement posted to Mount Washington’s Facebook page reads that, the “resort is CLOSED. Due to heavy snowfall and high avalanche danger, we will not be opening today. Please do not travel up the road.”
