Rescue crews on scene in Campbell River near Woods Creek

UPDATE: Three people were originally thrown from the ATV when the off-road vehicle rolled into a creek, according to reports.

Search crews have two people unaccounted for, but the search has been halted due to darkness. The condition of the third person has not bee released.

The search efforts are set to resume at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning.

STORIES BEACH, B.C.- Search and Rescue crews out of Campbell River are searching for two individuals after a reported ATV accident this afternoon.

Officials confirmed that the two people went missing when crossing Woods Creek.

A helicopter is on scene for the search. An eye witness told 98.9 the Goat that crews were searching the Stories Beach area along Wavecrest Road and Seabreeze Drive.

RCMP are also on scene, along with the Canadian Coast Guard.

Further details are unavailable at this time.
