UPDATE: The road is now open.
CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C- Travelers on the Old Island Highway will be delayed this morning.
According to the Courtenay RCMP dispatch centre, a structure fire between York Road and Iron River Road has closed down the route in both directions.
The blockage is anticipated to last around a half hour.
A caller to the offices of 98.9 The Goat indicated the fire was in a cabin at the Glen Alder RV Park, which is along the highway. Fire crews have been dispatched to the scene.
