Suspicious package shuts down Comox Valley Airport

COMOX, B.C- All operations at the Comox Valley Airport have been halted this morning.

According to Maxine Montgomery with the airport administration, a suspicious package was found on an Air Canada flight that arrived from Vancouver last night.
While Montgomery couldn’t speak to the exact nature of the package and the time of its discovery was not released, she stated the airport has been shut down while authorities deal with the matter.
This will impact departures, but not scheduled arrivals.
Montgomery expected the incident to be dealt with quickly, though she did not have an exact time for when operations would re-start.
