No injuries after home consumed by flame in Comox

COMOX, B.C- Fire has destroyed a home along Lazo Road in Comox.

According to Comox fire chief Gord Schreiner, crews got a call about a structure fire along the road at 4:45 a.m. this morning.

After they arrived, they found a 1.5 story home engulfed in flame.

The department sent three fire engines, two rescue trucks, and more than 2o firefighters to the scene, and the flames were quickly knocked down. A hydrant was very close to the structure, allowing for quick hook-up of fire hoses.

No one was home at the time of the blaze, and no injuries to firefighters or civilians was reported.

Crews will be remaining on scene today to ensure there is no flare up at the structure.
