Two sent to hospital after quad accident in Merville

MERVILLE, BC- Two people were sent to hospital after a collision just south of the Merville General Store on Highway 19A tonight.

According to reports, the two people were towing a utility trailer with two logs on it, when a truck collided with the trailer from behind.

Courtenay Fire responded to the scene, and chief Don Bardonnex said that fortunately, the situation turned out better than they had initially thought.

The condition of the victims is not known, but Bardonnex said their injuries were deemed not critical at the scene. No further details are known at this time.

RCMP, Courtenay Fire and Emcon Services responded to the scene.
