Trees down power lines in Black Creek

BLACK CREEK, B.C- Falling trees took down power lines in Black Creek this afternoon.

According to the BC Hydro website, the outage took place around 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The downed trees were near the 7300 block of the Old Island Highway, along Nurmi Road, and brought down the power lines in the area.

The outage area is small, and less than five customers are affected.

A BC Hydro crew has been dispatched to the scene, along with the Courtenay fire department. Anyone heading through the area will have a brief slowdown while crews are dealing with the issue.
