One taken to hospital after crashing into building

COURTENAY, B.C. – The Comox Valley RCMP is investigating after a woman drove her car into the rear of a shopping complex in Courtenay.

CTV Vancouver Island made the initial report shortly before 9:00 p.m.

The incident happened in a complex off Ryan Road. According to Courtenay Fire’s Deputy Chief, Kurt MacDonald, the driver was exiting from across the rear parking lot and collided with the building.

“Lots of damage to the front end of the vehicle,” he said. No major damage to the building was reported.

Her injuries were reported as minor, but she was taken to hospital by B.C. Ambulance.
