Human remains found in Campbell River identified, homicide investigation underway

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C.- The human remains found in Campbell River have been identified.

The RCMP says they’re that of 21-year-old Joshua Munro. The remains were found in mid-February. An autopsy confirmed the identity.

The RCMP says Munro’s death is being treated as a homicide and the Campbell River Serious Crime Unit is doing the investigation. Police believe Munro’s death was targeted and that there is no risk to the general public.

The RCMP says it won’t be releasing any further information at this time to avoid jeopardizing the investigation. If you have any information about the death of Joshua Munro you’re asked to call the Campbell River RCMP at 250-286-6221.
