Hold and Secure lifted at Arden Elementary

COURTENAY, BC – The RCMP was on scene at Arden Elementary in Courtenay this morning.

The school implemented a Hold and Secure security measure due to suspicious activity around the school grounds. According to a release from SD71, the RCMP arrived on scene quickly and after investigating the area, deemed that there was no threat to the public, students or staff.

The Hold and Secure has since been lifted. During a Hold and Secure, school activities continue on as normal. All entrance doors are locked, with no one permitted in or out of the building.
