COURTENAY, B.C- The police in the Comox Valley want to give people their stolen property back.
According to a news release from the detachment, the Comox Valley RCMP Crime Reduction Unit searched a storage locker in the Valley in early March of 2018, as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
“As a result, investigators recovered a number of items including child/youth motorcycles, a child sized quad, snowboards, comic book collections and trading cards which they believe to be stolen,” read the news release.
“RCMP are hoping to identify the owner or owners of the property and are asking the public to call the Comox Valley RCMP Detachment at 250-338- 1321, quoting file number 2018-3015, with any information they may have in relation to these items.”
Proof of ownership is needed to claim any of the seized property.
According to Constable Monika Terragni, the spokesperson for the detachment, anyone without a receipt can call the detachment to identify property by providing a detailed description of it, which could include when and where it was stolen.
Unique identifiers such as damage, dents, scratches to the items, stickers placed by the owner, serial numbers, or photographs of items prior to their theft can be used to help identify them.
No photographs of the stolen material are being released.
