COURTENAY, B.C- A major route in the Comox Valley will be completely open to traffic by this evening.
For the past two days, a section of 17th Street between Fitzgerald Avenue and McPhee Avenue has been closed to traffic, due to work on a sanitary sewer main.
Drivers had been advised to detour via Cumberland Road, and signage was up blocking vehicles from the closed-down section.
However, the work was scheduled to run until Friday evening at 6:00 p.m., and according to the City of Courtenay’s Public Works department, the work is being done on time.
