Watson’s notice stated that the increase flow would benefit kayakers.

Experienced paddlers could notice a flow rate of about 11 cubic metres per second at the Browns River, and around 65 cubic metres per second at the Puntledge/Browns crossover.

Although experienced kayakers can take advantage of the increased flows, the general public is being advised to steer clear of the Puntledge River on Saturday and Sunday. Danger safety signage is in place along the river channel.
