Glacier Kings clawed by Cougars to open VIJHL campaign

ESQUIMALT, B.C. – It was a rough start to the season for the Comox Valley Glacier Kings.
The Glacier Kings dropped a 7-2 decision to the host Victoria Cougars on Thursday at Archie Browning Arena in Esquimalt.
Courtenay’s junior B hockey team is trying to bounce back from a rough 2017-18 season in which they won four times in 48 games.
Booker Chacalias posted a hat trick and Mateo Albinati tallied twice for the Cougars, who outshot the Glacier Kings 38-29.
Conrad Nash and Finn Withey found the net for the Kings.
The Glacier Kings play their home opener Saturday when they host the Saanich Braves at the Comox Valley Sports Centre.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
