UPDATE: Hydro crews restore lost power in Courtenay

COURTENAY, B.C. – Over 3000 customers were affected by a power outage in Courtenay this afternoon.

BC Hydro crews said a bird collided with power lines, causing the outage. The downed power was reported shortly after 1:00 p.m.

Power was restored at around 2:14 p.m.

The outage impacted the area east of Cessford Road, north of 29th Street, west of Acacia Road and south of Gatehouse Place.
