Search and rescue scrambled for injured hiker on Mount Albert Edward

COURTENAY, B.C- A search and rescue operation is underway in the Comox Valley tonight.

Members of the Comox Valley Ground Search and Rescue team were seen boarding an RCMP helicopter at the Courtenay Airpark around 6:15 p.m.

Reached by phone, an official at the rescue command post said that there was an injured hiker on Mount Albert Edward, which was the cause for the rescue operation.

More information about the operation is not yet available.
