Hundreds take part in Cumberland adventure race

CUMBERLAND, B.C. – The sky was clear and the sun was shining as racers competed to win the annual Atmosphere Mind Over Matter Adventure Race.

The Cumberland event saw 700 racers go up against one another in paddling, biking and trekking challenges.

Preliminary results have been released, with Powell River’s Graham Cocksedge and Cumberland’s Nygil Goggins finishing first overall.

They finished the race in just under five hours.

Justin Mark and Jeff Riemer from Nanaimo finished in second place, with Cumberland’s Carl Tessmann competing solo and rounding out the top three.
