MV Powell River Queen out of service starting Tuesday

CAMPBELL RIVER, B.C. – The ferry that runs between Campbell River and Quadra Island will undergo scheduled maintenance this week.

The MV Powell River Queen will be removed from the route on Tuesday, October 9th.

The MV Bowen Queen will come in as a replacement vessel starting with the 9:15 p.m. departure from Quathiaski Cove (Quadra Island).

Because of the deck configuration on this vessel, all vehicles over six-foot-eight inches in height will be directed to the over-height lanes.

According to BC Ferries, customers might notice a change in lane assignments both in the terminal and on the vessel. The maximum width for the vessel is 10 feet.

The MV Powell River Queen will return to service on Sunday, November 18th as of the 3:00 p.m. departure sailing from Quadra Island.
