LINC Youth Centre ready to scare guests at its annual haunted house

COURTENAY, B.C. – Get ready to be spooked at the LINC Youth Centre’s annual haunted house this Halloween season.

The attraction opens up to visitors starting this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

One of the house’s organizers, Alexis Forbes said 36 kids have been involved in putting together this year’s haunt since September.

“About half of them, this is their third or fourth time coming back to do the haunted house, so it’s kinda cool to have lots of veteran ghouls and some new ones that have joined us,” she said.

The youth involved are known as the “ghoul school”.

“They meet once a week for about two hours, and design, come up with the plans, the theme for the haunted house, the storyline and bring all their fresh ideas and their friends,” Forbes explained.

The haunted house has been an annual staple at the LINC for “at least ten years”, according to Forbes.

She said money raised from the event goes back towards the services offered at the LINC. The centre offers a safe space for youth in the Comox Valley to learn, play and socialize.

Admission to the haunted house is $2 per person and $5 per family.

It’s open on the following dates:

• Wednesday, October 24th from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Thursday, October 25th from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Friday, October 26th from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Saturday, October 27th from 6 to 9 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 30th from 6 to 8 p.m.
• Wednesday, October 31st from 5 to 7 p.m.

The October 31st date is set aside as a “Half the Fright Night” for younger visitors.
