Dog licenses now available for CVRD electoral residents

COMOX VALLEY, B.C. – The Comox Valley Regional District is reminding local pet owners that it’s time to purchase their 2019 dog licenses.

The CVRD requires all dogs over six months of age to be licenced every year within Electoral Area A – Baynes Sound (except Hornby and Denman), Electoral Area B – Lazo North and Electoral Area C – Puntledge and Black Creek.

Starting November 15, residents within these electoral areas will be able to purchase their licence.

Licences are valid from Jan. 1 until Dec. 31 each year.

Those who live within the City of Courtenay, Town of Comox and Village of Cumberland must contact their municipal office to obtain their annual dog licence.

“All dogs in the CVRD electoral areas require a licence if they are over six months old,” explained CVRD Manager of Bylaw Compliance Amanda Yasinski.

“Help ensure that your pet quickly finds its way back home by purchasing your 2019 dog licence today.”

The cost to licence a spayed or neutered dog is $5 and for a non-spayed or neutered dog is $15.
