RCMP seeking wanted man, issue vehicle break-in warning

COURTENAY, B.C- The Comox Valley RCMP are looking for a wanted man.

The man’s name is Leon Edward Sprlak, and he is believed to be somewhere in the Valley. He is wanted for breaking and entering, and possession of break and enter tools.

Sprlak is 38 years old, and stands six feet tall. He weighs 170 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. He also has skull tattoos on both hands.

If anyone has any information on his location, they should contact the RCMP or Crimestoppers.

Police also issued a warning about vehicle break-ins.

“It can take seconds for a thief to break your car window and snatch your wallet, purse, or phone,” read the warning.

“The Comox Valley RCMP have seen an increase in smash-and-grab thefts in the last few weeks and would like to remind residents to prevent the theft before it happens. Theft prevention starts before you even park your vehicle. Ensure all your valuables are out of sight because when an opportunistic thief sees something they want, they will quickly break in and take it leaving you with a big mess to clean up.”
