Royston Elementary math wizards capture national online title

ROYSTON, B.C. – When it comes to math, a group of Grade 5 and 6 students from Royston Elementary are in a class by themselves.

The Grade 5/6 class won first place in Sumdog’s Canadian National Math Competition, beating all other classes that were registered.

In total, 1,123 students participated from across Canada, with each student answering 1,000 online math questions during the week-long competition that ran from Nov. 23 to 29.

The second and third ranking schools in the country hail from Nova Scotia.
