NORTHERN VANCOUVER ISLAND, B.C. – Brace yourself – another blast of wind is on its way.

Another wind warning has been issued for Northeastern Vancouver Island.

The warning is in effect in Courtenay to Campbell River, and Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay.

Environment Canada is forecasting winds near 70 km/h are forecast by early this evening.

An intense front will arrive on the coast this afternoon, with southeast winds increasing as the front approaches and peak late this afternoon or early this evening.

Winds are expected to reach 70 km/h over exposed coastal areas.

As the front moves inland tonight, winds will ease and shift to gusty southerlies.

“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage,” Environment Canada noted in its warning.

“High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.”
