Oyster River Fire Rescue hamper drive a success

OYSTER RIVER, B.C. – Oyster River Fire Rescue’s Christmas hamper drive was a success.

According to a release from the department, it was thanks to the support from Discovery Foods as well as the generous donations from the community.

Oyster River Fire Rescue collected monetary and food donations. All the donations were given to Chad and Tanya Hooker from the Bread of Life Food Bank.

In all, the food bank received $1, 900 in cash, as well as several boxes of food.

The donations will be used for Christmas hampers, and will be distributed to community members in need throughout Black Creek, Merville, and Oyster Bay.

The fire department is thanking the community for its generosity.
