Ferries cancelled between Comox and Powell River due to high winds

COMOX, B.C. – You won’t be able to take the ferry from Comox to Powell River this afternoon.

Some of the sailings on the run have been cancelled due to high winds. The ferry service said the 3:15 departure from Comox was cancelled.

The Salish Raven’s 5:15 departure from Powell River has been cancelled as well.

“Please note the last sailing of the day may also be cancelled subject to the weather conditions,” read the notice from BC Ferries.

“The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us. We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of these cancellations.”
