Union Bay boil water notice extended

UNION BAY, B.C- Residents of Union Bay still need to boil their water.

According to an announcement from the Union Bay Improvement District issued on Thursday, the area’s boil water notice remains in effect. It was first issued on December 15th, 2018.

Thursday’s announcement stated that there have been no significant changes in the turbidity levels of Langley Lake, and that the boil water notice will remain in effect until drinking water quality standards meet health regulations.

It is advised to boil water for one minute prior to consumption or prior to washing vegetables, teeth brushing or food preparation,” read the notice.

“As a reminder, the affected users are those connected to the water system extending from the north end of Kilmarnock to the south end at the Buckley Bay rest stop.”
