Ensuring there are local workers hired to help construct the new hospitals that are part of the North Island Hospitals Project has been a key goal.
Project manager Tom Sparrow says they follow the stats on that on a month to month basis.
Sparrow says they are finding many of the subcontractors contracted to work on specific parts of the project are also very interested in hiring as many local workers as they can.
